Atienza Engineering, Inc. (AE, Inc.) was founded by Joseph S. Atienza, PE, TE, a civil engineering graduate from Technological Institute of the Philippines. It was established and incorporated on May 31, 2016.

Mr. Atienza has over 22 years of diversified and well-rounded project experience on civil and transportation engineering for highway, freeway, and transit corridor projects. His experience includes project management, operation, project delivery, quality assurance, negotiation with clients, value engineering, supervising and mentoring staff, project engineering, and design. His project experience ranges from conceptual design, final PS&E, to construction. He has been involved on many high profile transportation projects in Southern California.

Prior to establishing Atienza Engineering, Inc., Mr. Atienza worked for several highly reputed firms including Washington Group International (Now URS), Parsons Corporation, and HDR, Inc. Some of the prominent projects he was involved in are Mid-City Exposition Light Rail Transit Phase 1 & 2, Crenshaw/LAX Transit Corridor Project, SR-91 Design-Build/Project, Gold Line Foothill Light-Rail Extension Project, San Fernando Valley Bus Rapid Transit, Gold Line Eastside Extension Project, Thomas Roads Improvement Program Project for City of Bakersfield, CA and Caltrans, Interstate 405/State Route 22 HOV Connector Project, Regional Connector Transit Corridor Project, Westside Extension Transit corridor project, etc.

Mr. Atienza is a registered professional civil and traffic engineer in the State of California. He is also actively participating as a subject matter expert for the California Board for Professional Engineers for both civil and traffic engineering for the last several years.
